MPO/MTP patch cables use a multi-fiber push-on/pull-off (MPO/MTP) connector to connect multiple fibers together in a single connector. They can be single-mode or multi-mode and are commonly used in data centers or long-distance telecommunications networks. Unlike single-fiber connectors, MPO/MTP connectors can contain multiple fibers in one connector, commonly 12, 24, or more fibers, enabling fast deployment and space saving.
